Details: These
links can be added to Google Earth to view BC data with URL links to more
details. This service requires downloading of the Google Earth
client, available at: earth.google.com.
Click the image or .kmz file link and Open with Google Earth. The
links can also be Saved as a file and opened or dropped into Google Earth.
Hints: Too much tilt may reduce data visibility. Keep active
layers to a minimum. If it takes awhile to see the
image, zooming closer helps. If your laptop freezes, the video card may not
be supported; go to Tools, Options and try Graphics Mode DirectX. Opacity of
raster images can be adjusted. Google Earth requires a relatively fast
Internet connection and computer.
A Google Earth display is
available for each ASTER image in Image Analysis
Tool. For details see the IAT page and
Fieldwork 2005,
page 293.
Access the ASTER displays
by clicking on the Google Earth button of the ASTER IAT panel and
turning on the ASTER layer. The MapPlace WMS Connection displays
geology and MINFILE.
