Sandstone
| Sandstone consists of rounded sand grains cemented
together; it is one of the most common sedimentary rocks. A
sandstone may contain obvious layers (bedding) or lines at angles to the layers
(cross-bedding), but in some cases the beds are too far apart to see in the one exposure,
as is the case with conglomerate. |
