Ministry of Energy and Mines
Catalogue Introduction

Publications Catalogue

British Columbia’s geoscience database is available to the public through a variety of reports, maps and computer data generated by the BC Geological Survey.  The Ministry has issued publications since 1874, but the character of these publications has varied over the years in response to changing government services, policy, industry requirements and public interest.  This web site lists material published by the Ministry over the years and contains a current price if the publication is still available.

Starting in 1996 the BC Geological Survey commenced publishing geoscience material on the Ministry’s internet site.  Explore the BC Geological Survey web site starting at: http://www.em.gov.bc.ca/geology/, you will find much information not available through traditional media.

The BC Geological Survey Publications website includes links to information on various computer databases: MINFILE, ARIS, Regional Geochemical Surveys (RGS) and COALFILE.  Interested clients can also contact the staff geoscientists.

Most publications are available through Crown Publications Inc. or its agents. Be aware that prices and availability may change and that the prices quoted do not include taxes or shipping costs.  Please quote the Crown Publications stock number when ordering.  Out of print materials, indicated by “OP”, are available for viewing at various libraries, such as the Ministry Library at 1810 Blanshard Street in Victoria, B.C. Reports currently in the publication process are identified by “i.p.” (in preparation).
