Metadata for the North Coast Aggregate Potential Project Data Custodian: Peter Bobrowsky Produced: 2001 Datum Shift Information: The surficial polygons were mapped from 1:40,000 scale airphotos. These polygons were transferred to and digitized from 1:50,000 scale topographic map sheets. The mapsheets had a NAD27 datum and UTM projection. A datum shift from NAD27 to NAD83 was completed on the polygon coverage, drill hole coverage and the ARIS drill hole coverage. The aggregate classification shapefile (agg_poly) was then clipped using a coastline polygon constructed from 1:20,000 scale TRIM I data. This coastline is included in this project as a line coverage. Due to the differing scales of the polygon coverage(mapped at 1:50,000) and the coastline coverage (1:20,000 TRIM data) the polygon data, at points, does not correspond with the coastline. Due to the dynamic nature of rivers the surficial polygons may be offset when overlayed with rivers from NAD83 base maps. A river coverage, developed from 1:250 000 maps (NAD83) is included within the project.
