Digital Terrain & Soils Map Library - Introductory Map
The Introductory map acts as a graphical index to the Digital Terrain Map Library.  Through this map the user can interactively view or download maps in the library. To use this facility the Autodesk MapGuide Viewer is required, which is available at no cost from the Autodesk MapGuide site. Instructions for the use of this Viewer are also available at their site and should be examined prior to use as many of the excellent features are not obvious to first time users.  If using Internet Explorer the Viewer will automatically install, assuming you have administrative rights.

When the Introductory Map item is selected below a map of BC will appear with a number of polygons.  These polygons outline the available maps.  Several individual maps are often grouped into a single project to facilitate viewing and downloading.   It is these grouped project files which are initially displayed.  By moving the mouse over a polygon the project name will be displayed (ie. FRBC_9A).  A single click of the left mouse button on a polygon will highlight the report button if reports are available.  A double click of the left mouse button will link the user to a dynamically generated page which will describe the project file, provide download access, or provide interactive viewing of the map in several formats.
