Open Files (1986 and onward)
The Open File series of maps and reports was initiated in 1986 to speed delivery of geoscience data to industry and the public. Publications in this series are prepared by the authors and receive limited editorial scrutiny prior to rapid printing and distribution. In many cases these publications report preliminary results from ongoing projects and are replaced by final maps and reports. Reports currently in the publication process are identified by “i.p.” (in preparation).
An Open File with the letters OP as its stock code is out of print. Out of print publications are available for viewing at various libraries, such as the James T. Fyles Library, Main Floor, 1810 Blanshard Street in Victoria, B.C. Please call ahead for an appointment.
All publications of the BC Geological Survey are available digitally, free of charge, from this website.
