bullet In general the BC Government quotes the current year and sometimes the last two years of spending from B.C. Provincial Geoscience Statistics and the historical record prior to that, from the National Exploration Survey.
bullet The National Exploration Survey
bullet Completed twice annually by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
bullet Surveys are rigorously conducted and documented to Statistics Canada’s standard and NRCan’s General Model of Resource Development and Mining Process.
bullet Results are submitted to Statistics Canada as the official record of exploration spending for Canada’s Chart of Accounts.
bullet Survey terms are rigorously defined.
bullet The B.C. Provincial Geoscience Statistics
bullet Updated estimates are ongoing from February to December through B.C.’s Mineral Development Office in Vancouver and the Regional Geologists.
bullet MEMPR staff monitor the pulse of exploration from verbal reports, company geologists, site visits and permit applications.
