Petroleum Titles On-Line
(PTO) is intended to facilitate
petroleum tenure-related transactions through
the internet and link to the Integrated
Land and Resource Registry.
PTO is primarily focused towards MEM's
clients to insure they have timely access to accurate petroleum tenure data and
related tenure administration processes.

Conversion Table:
TWP/RGE/SEC to NTS Map
This table contains a list of all the
Township/Range/Sections within the Peace River Block and provides the
equivalent NTS Map No. and Block for each Section. You may need the
NTS Map No. information when trying to navigate to a geographic area using
the Find Location by mapsheet option in Petroleum Titles Online.
Map Queries
The map query tool can be accessed by clicking on the link in
the opening paragraph or at www.ptonline.gov.bc.ca. Online map links
are also included with
sale notices and results reports.
Online Posting
The Online Posting tool
enables users to submit postings through the internet using a clickable map to
identify the requested parcels. Options enable users to select a specific sale, submit
requests to the Ministry and receive an acknowledgement. Users can also
review and amend their specific requests, prior to the closing date
of the sale. This is a secure facility allowing users to view only
their individual posting requests, prior to the closing date of the sale.
Amendments may still be requested online after the closing date, up to the
withdrawal date for that sale. Ministry staff will be responsible for
making these amendments in the system.
It should be noted that it is not the Ministry's intention
to make the online posting process mandatory at this point. Faxed requests
are still acceptable.
Access to Petroleum
Titles Online
No special access codes
are required to use the map viewer and create
simple reports.
The online posting
process results in the need
for a secure means of maintaining the confidentiality of users. The
Province has instituted an identification process for authenticating users
signing on to various government websites known as the BCeID project.
The Petroleum Titles Online Posting Module uses this facility to ensure all
users are authorized to access the site and view their specific proprietary
information. The Province will not release information concerning
the identity of parties requesting postings at any time.
What is BCeID?
BCeID is an online service that makes it possible for interested parties to
use a pre-assigned login ID and password to sign in securely to any BCeID
participating British Columbia Government internet site.
With a BCeID users can:
Enroll once and have access to government participating sites using a BCeID.
Have a single password so users don't have to remember a different Login and
password at every participating government internet site.
Who can request a
BCeID?
Companies may register for
Petroleum Titles Online and BCeID by contacting the Titles Division directly.
Alternatively, they can register with BCeID by contacting BCeID at:
BCEID@gems5.gov.bc.ca or phone
1-888-356-2741 for further information. They should also contact the
Ministry of Energy and Mines, Titles Division, to create a client code if they
are not existing petroleum and natural gas tenure holders.
