Electricity Policy


Electricity Policy

	develops electricity related policies, legislation, regulations and programs.
	implements the electricity elements of the Province's Energy Plans, and develops and implements additional electricity related initiatives to further the objectives of the Energy Plans.
	oversees and develops the policy framework for major energy Crown corporations: B.C. Hydro, British Columbia Transmission Corporation, and related statutory frameworks: Hydro and Power Authority Act, the Transmission Corporation Act and the BC Hydro Public Power Legacy and Heritage Contract Act.
	provides support and expertise to the Ministry of Attorney General regarding British Columbia Utilities Commission and Utilities Commission Act issues.
	Provides support to Water Stewardship Division of Ministry of Environment regarding water rentals and related issues, as these pertain to the electricity sector.
	provides support and expertise to other provincial agencies on electricity related matters and in provincial review and policy development processes.
	provides policy support and advice on Columbia River Treaty matters, and
	represents and supports the provincial interest on a variety of inter-jurisdictional electricity issues and committees.
