These
three colour Geoscience Maps (1998-2, 1998-3,
&
1998-4) cover areas in the Purcell anticlinorium. Exploration
attention is focused in the Purcell anticlinorium, targeting favourable
settings for new SEDEX deposits using the features found at the world class
Sullivan Pb-Zn-Ag mine as indicators. The maps provide 1:50 000 scale
geology with Sullivan-style indicators (e.g. sedimentary fragmentals,
tourmalinite, albite alteration, garnet-rich zones) clearly shown and the
locations of diamond drill holes.
Geoscience Map 1998-2 covers
the core of the Moyie anticline and mineral occurrences in the Mt. Mahon-Yahk
area. Map 1998-3 includes the extensively explored Fors-Vine areas and the
newly discovered Panda Basin. Map 1998-4 covers the Findlay-Doctor Creek
area, where recent drilling has identified stratiform sulphides in Upper
Aldridge strata.
