Diorite
| Diorite is a medium to dark grey, medium to coarse-grained
intrusive rock. Light
minerals are mainly plagioclase feldspar with no quartz. Dark minerals are abundant,
though less than light crystals, and include pyroxene and hornblende. |

| When quartz is present, the rock is a quartz diorite. When dark
minerals are more abundant than light minerals the rock is a gabbro. |
