A. Search by
Assessment Report Number
Assessment Report numbers are a sequential set
of 5 digit numbers, one for each Assessment Report. Enter the required Assessment
Report Number as a number and the search screen will automatically add the leading
zeros. Eg. if you enter 158 and hit Enter it will be automatically converted
to 00158 for the search. Also note there are gaps in the sequence of assessment
report numbers. |

| The Affidavit Date is the date that the
Statement of Work is recorded in the Gold Commissioner's office. |

There can be up to 3 authors, 3 operators and 5 owners for an assessment report.
When selecting this search any combination of
authors, owners or operators can be chosen. If you do not indicate a preference you
will obtain all three (authors, owners and operators) in your search results.
Eg. If you were looking for Jones, John and did not indicate a preference - you
would get John Jones as an author, owner and operator in your results. If you just
wanted any reports that he authored you would select the author box alongside the name of
Jones, John and would only obtain a listing of assessment reports that he authored.
If you were looking for Jones Inc. you would key in Jones Inc. Only individuals are
keyed in by surname, then first name, etc.
If exact spelling unknown, partial name

which indicates the centre of the work done. Searches can be done on a range of both
latitudes and longitudes in either NAD 27 or TRIM/NAD 83 datums - simply select the NAD

Once a search has been performed and/or
refined there are many ways of looking at your results:
N. Links - just click on any of the links (highlighted
in blue) to view by:
Assessment Report Number
- to view or print a Detailed Summary Report for an individual report. |
MINFILE Number - to go to
the MINFILE database which displays the Capsule Geology and Bibliography report for the
mineral occurrence. |
NTS Maps - to view the
Assessment Report Index Map showing the location of the centre of work
performed. If you cannot locate an assessment report on the map link it may still be
confidential and/or not yet plotted. |
Latitude/Longitude - to
go to "The MapPlace" - another Ministry site where you can create your own maps
interactively using interactive data sets. A FREE Autodesk MapGuide plugin viewer is
required to access "The Map Place". Once you are there simply click on the
AutoDesk icon to acquire the viewer. Note that when you turn on the ARIS layer
the assessment report you clicked on will be at the centre of the map displayed. |
O. List Report Numbers - this report provides you with a listing of
the assessment report numbers from your search. This report can also be saved to a
file or sent to the printer.
P. ARIS/www Detailed Summary Report - the most complete report from the ARIS/www
search page. This report summarizes all the details of an assessment report onto one
page and can be run two ways:
(1) for an individual report number - click on the Report # itself on the search results
page and print this report for an individual assessment report, or
(2) for a group of assessment report numbers (search results) - click on the ARIS/www
Detailed Summary Report button at the bottom of the search results screen and view/print
all of the search results. Use CAUTION when printing this report - if you have 655
reports in your search results you could end up printing hundreds of pages of information.
(3) Grey .PDF Button - click on this button to view the report itself. The
report is in .pdf format and can be printed using the Adobe Reader. The first time
you use this feature you will have to download the Adobe Reader onto your system.
NOTE: If a grey .PDF Button does not show up on the summary page for the report it
has not yet been posted to the web. We are scanning off confidential reports
starting in April 1999 and working backwards in time from there. Reports off
confidential in the 1960's for example won't be posted for some time. If there is
more than one .PDF Button this would indicate a large report which is split into sections
A, B, C, etc.
The Detailed Summary Report may also provide some additional information as follows: |
Title of
Report - the title given to the report by the author(s), |
Report Year
- the year the assessment report was written. |
No. of
Pages - the number of text pages in a report. |
Off
Confidential - the date (YYYY-MM-DD) that the report comes off of
confidential status and available for public viewing. An assessment report is
confidential for one year. |
Work Done
- this part of the report elaborates on the Specific Work Type field and provides details
(by work type) such as the amount of ground covered, number of maps, scales of maps, size
of holes, number of holes, etc. |
Geological
Summary - a memo field describing the geological summary of an assessment
report. This data was captured from 1981 to 1989 and was replaced with the keyword
field. |
Related
Reports - this references any other assessment reports that may be related. |
Import/Export Utility for
Searching |
| To import a list of assessment report numbers,
the file must have a .txt extension. Click on the "Import Reports" button
on the blue banner bar at the top of the Search screen and follow the instructions.
When you create your own custom .txt list it must contain a listing of assessment report
numbers in 5-digit format (eg. 00543, 02345, 12322, etc.) with hard coded carriage returns
after each number. The list can then be imported and searched on. Your search results can be saved as a .txt file using the "Export
Reports" Option on the blue banner bar at the top of the Search screen. It can
be saved as anything you want and anywhere you desire, but note that it can only be
imported back into the searches as a .txt file.
For further information on mineral assessment reports or if
you have any problems with the searches contact the Assessment Report Unit as follows: |
