These two maps areas contain 188 recorded mineral occurrences. The western part of the area is underlain by the Coast Crystalline Belt and the remainder by the Intermontane Belt. The area hosts several major mineral occurrences such as Galore Creek (104G 090-099, 156, 157) porphyry copper, Schaft Creek (104G 015, 032) porphyry copper-molybdenum and the Spectrum (104G 036) gold deposits.

In December 1998, occurrences 104G 159 to 177 were added to the database to coordinate with recent (1996)BC Geological Survey mapping and Assessment Report compilation.  Other occurrences in the area were also updated.
