The Dunlevy Creek area in Northeast BC was designated a
special management zone in the Dawson Creek Land and Resource
Management Plan (LRMP). Within the LRMP a pre-tenure plan for
the area was recommended prior to the issuance of oil and gas
subsurface tenures.
The Dunlevy Creek Management Plan was approved in January 2002.
This plan directs the development of the oil and gas industry and
the sale of the petroleum and natural gas tenures. The plan also
guides landscape level planning for forest development in the area.
The Dunlevy Creek Management Plan is considered a pre-tenure plan with
respect to oil and gas planning.
